Civil lawsuits

Plaintiff YD has filed a federal RICO complaint in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey against Amogh Karney, Anand Karney, et al., alleging a coordinated real estate investment fraud scheme that induced YD to invest approximately $277,500 in purported ownership interests that defendants did not own or control. The complaint details how defendants used false representations, staged property tours, fabricated ownership narratives, and a purported attorney escrow arrangement to create a façade of legitimacy while concealing that the properties were already in foreclosure, under receivership, or subject to ownership disputes; after obtaining funds, they issued limited initial distributions before ceasing payments and communication. The action asserts federal RICO claims along with multiple state law causes including fraud, conspiracy, conversion, and unjust enrichment, seeking recovery of losses, treble damages, and equitable relief.
