Amogh Karney was indicted and arrested in connection with perjury-related charges brought by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. The case was later dismissed without prejudice, which means the charges may be reinstated in the future.

During various court proceedings, Karney reportedly presented conflicting information. For example, while seeking a public defender on the grounds of financial hardship, he declared in his financial affidavit that he held only $100,000 in investments—an amount might to be tied to a property at 8901 Mission Road, Leawood, Kansas.

Subsequent activity on a pending lawsuit shows that Amogh Karney is just a resident of that property and had a notice to vacate .
